Felix B Tan is Professor of Information Systems,
Head of the School of Computer and Information Sciences and Associate Dean
(Research) for the Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies at Auckland
University of Technology, New Zealand. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the
Journal of Global Information Management. He is on the Executive Council
and is a Fellow of the Information Resources Management Association. He is also
on the Council of the Association for Information Systems as the Asia-Pacific
Representative. He has held visiting positions with the National University of
Singapore, The University of Western Ontario, Canada and was recently visiting
professor at Georgia State University, USA.
Dr. Tan is internationally known for his
work in the global IT field. Dr. Tan’s current research interests are in
electronic commerce, global information management, business-IT alignment, and
the management of IT. He is actively using cognitive mapping and narrative
inquiry methods in his research. Dr. Tan has published in MIS Quarterly,
Information & Management, Journal of Information Technology, Journal of
Electronic Commerce in Organizations as well as other journals and refereed
conference proceedings. He has also published seven books in the global IT field
and is Editor of the book series “Advanced Topics in Global Information
Management”. Dr. Tan has over 20 years experience in information systems
management and consulting with large multinationals, as well as University
teaching and research in Singapore, Canada and New Zealand.
