The Fourth Wuhan International Conference On E-Business(WHICEB2005)

Dear WHICEB Attendees and Fellow Scholars,

On behalf of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), I am delighted to welcome you to the Fourth Wuhan International Conference on E-Business (WHICEB 2005).

This conference is widely recognized in the region and beyond as an excellent and fascinating academic conference on E-Business. I trust that all of you will find that WHICEB 2005 provides new insights and understanding. It provides an opportunity for scholars to meet and discuss teaching and research, and a venue for making and renewing friendships.

A successful conference is dependent on the energy and devotion of the many people who contribute to it. As President-Elect of AIS, and on your behalf, I would like to express our gratitude and congratulations to all these people for their good work. In particular, I would like to thank Professor Jing Zhao, Director of the Center for International Cooperation in E-Business, College of Management, China University of Geosciences, for her commitment to ensuring that the conference is intellectually challenging and a pleasurable social experience. My special thanks also go to the conference co-chairs, Professor Wilfred Huang and Professor Frank Duserick, College of Business, Alfred University, NY, USA.

As President-Elect of the AIS, I would also like to encourage all of you to visit our AIS website (www.aisnet.org), and see first-hand what the AIS has to offer to YOU. When checking out the website, you will quickly realize that AIS provides an outstanding opportunity to network with more than 4,200 colleagues from around the world, exchanging research ideas, getting teaching hints -- there is always somebody who has taught a similar topic before -- and last but not least -- make new friends!

We very much look forward to welcoming new members from all regions of the world to AIS. Once you join us, you will realize that it is your society. So please let me know what you value and where you think the AIS can add further services and programs. Feel free to e-mail me your views on the AIS, and how we can be of more value to you, especially you as members from China and other Asian countries.

I wish all attendees to WHICEB 2005 the very best and trust that you have a successful and enjoyable conference.

                                                            Claudia Loebbecke

                                                                 President-Elect
