第十届武汉电子商务国际会议

During the past few years there have been many disasters, both natural and man-made, which demanded the use of robust information technology. The use of technology to manage disasters is a growing field with contributions from many areas of information technology, including data management systems, geographical information systems and business intelligence. Governments, emergency response specialists and software manufacturing companies are recognizing the need for integrated, effective disaster management systems. The need for research into the effectiveness of these systems is significant. This panel for disaster management will be inaugurated as the Wuhan e-Business conference during this coming session.

Most industries have by now made significant progress in the e-domain. One notable exception is healthcare. Healthcare globally is a clear laggard in the use of e-technologies. Paradoxically it is likely that e-health may hold the key in addressing many of the current challenges in Healthcare. Governments in both US and EU have recognized this, and are encouraging various forms of e-health solutions. We have set out to foster research in this area: for the first time WHICEB is hosting a special focus on e-health, with a sessions on e-health.

This workshop is designed to help junior and less experienced researchers in China to become familiar with the international norms associated with publishing IS research. It will cover a number of issue including: the nature of the international journal market; the psychology of authors, reviewers, editors and the audience; the importance of rigour and relevance in IS research; potential topics for IS research in China; writing style; reviews, reviewing and reviewers; and also will provide the opportunity for members of the audience to engage in a collaborative work process. If there are senior colleagues available, they may be able to work with specific teams in the audience in the latter part of the workshop - I will be happy to work with specific senior colleagues closer to the date when it is clear who will be attending.

企业电子商务应用是信息与通信技术发展和经济全球化的必然结果。企业如何将传统商务与电子商务整合，进行经营模式、组织结构、业务流程、管理手段的变革；新兴网络企业如何利用新技术的媒介特点，进行经营模式的大胆创新，探索新的机会，创造新的客户价值；企业电子商务日新月异地发展也对高校电子商务专业人才培养提出了新的挑战，电子商务引发的管理变革与创新已经引起了政府、学术界、企业界的广泛关注。本论坛将从企业电子商务实践出发，通过典型应用实例，展现具有行业特点的企业电子商务模式、主要的解决方案以及现存的问题；也将围绕关于高校电子商务人才培养、专业建设、知识体系构建、实践与实训指导、电子商务理论与应用发展以及课程体系建设等进行广泛而深入的交流与探讨。并希望以互动的方式，为电子商务人才培养与中国情境下企业实践的有机结合提供交流平台,促进企业电子商务的发展和成功应用。

3. ERP模拟训练专题（ERP sim: A Serious Game to Teach ERP Concepts）

Objectives：

The use of ERPsim is granted to universities that are part of the SAP University Alliance (SAP UA, see http://www.uac.sap.com/). The role of the SAP UA is to foster the development of SAP related teaching material by faculty for faculty. Over 100 universities worldwide participating in the SAP UA have already adopted ERPsim to teach ERP concepts in the classroom. ERPsim is the result of this relationship between the SAP UA. The objective of this one-day workshop is to provide the final training required by Faculty members to use the ERP Simulation Game in their classes.IMPORTANT: This 3 hours workshop is not a certification event. Faculty interested in using the simulation software would need to attend a ERPsim Instructor Training Level 1. More information on erpsim.hec.ca for information on training events.

Description:

The ERP Simulation Game is an innovative “learning-by-doing” approach to teaching ERP concepts. Using a continuous-time simulation, Participants are put in a situation in which they have to run their business with a real-life ERP (mySAP ECC 6.0) system. Using standard and customized reports in SAP, Participants must analyze their transactional data to make business decisions and ensure the profitability of their operations. The simulation that will be presented in this workshop consists of a distribution company where participants must operate the full business cycle (plan, procure, and sell). The game is designed to help Participants experience the value of upstream and downstream information flows and the value of process integration across functional silos, and to understand the impact of poor decision-making and timing by one player on team performance. We suggest that people should bring a laptop if they want to participate.

The editorial board members will discuss the paper with each participant, giving each a feedback on constructive ideas and plans to enhance their papers for publication. Any papers after revision can be followed up again by the editorial board members after the conference.
